One thing I've really loved about this series is going from a group to just two friends. The (friend) devotion these dudes have for each other is super heartwarming. This line in particular is the best, when Goh attributes his success to Ash, without the need to go into detail about it.
It might be interesting to go back to a larger group dynamic in gen 9, but I've really enjoyed the way this show went all in on a single friendship. The only other series to have that feeling is DP. Kinda makes me wish I had a best friend.
