>>37264107>>37264114The biggest problem with SM Ash is the exact opposite of XY Ash.
In XY Ash was just a battling machine and outside of the first Gym and his issues with Syncing with Greninja we never saw Ash get overly emotional or put off his game or show an emotion other then the cool battler and confident leader.
Whereas in SM Ash is over emotional. He cries every 10 episodes, is overly enthusiastic and just annoying as shit at times. Not all his moments are bad but it's the few moments where the overly expression-able and emotional Ash disappear that he's at his best.
The writing of his character needs to take from XY and SM, have him be the bloodthirsty battler we know but also able to express feelings other then just a desire to battle or to be screaming at everything. The tail end of this weeks episode with Ash/Misty walking on the beach just chatting, the goodbye scene with Poipole, the scenes where Ash and Pikachu are just casually enjoying the scenery like in the first OP/2nd episode. The little things that aren't overblown or underdone are the moments Ashs character truly shines.
