Everyone would play as a different Pokémon except one kid who would be the trainer and try to catch them all. This was way before mystery dungeon. NOBODY wanted to be the trainer. Don't know why though. The trainer seemed to be the center of attention and got to play the most while the Pokémon had to wait their turns to resist being captured. Don't remember everything because it's been 20 years but maybe we fought each other in the wild but the group was VERY insistent that someone had to be the trainer.
I was probably the trainer a lot but wasn't intelligent enough at 6 years old to have more fun with it wasn't I? :/
