Caught a Pidgey and decided to stick with it.
Caught a Hoppip and thought I was ready to take on the world.

I won for the dumbest reason.
Clefairy: Metronomed Rest on turn 1. Flame wheel twice to win.
Miltank: Attract. Tanked Flame wheel like a champ. Tried to fight through the attraction. Rollout. Did heavy of damage to my Quilava. Decide to swap to my (underleveled) grass type. He instantly dies. Pidgey gets thrown out. (Female).
Can't think of anything else to do, so I sand-attack. Rollout misses. Do it again. It misses. Do it a few more times and it keeps missing until one hits and Pidgey dies.
I use a potion on Quilava. He gets hit by attract. We just fail to hit each other for a while. I land a few more flame wheels than she does rollouts, and she's done.
Single most stressful early game pokemon fight I've been in.
