Obviously Pokemon like Dratini and Bagon were tucked away in remote locations, but then there were the surprises. Seemingly ordinary creatures like Swablu, Horsea, and Trapinch are lackluster in their base forms, but have a kind of special power that comes out when you raise them. The reasons for these various associations are different, but it is still a cool touch to get this mystical, majestic power from otherwise garden-variety Pokemons. It actually caught me totally off-guard the first time I raised a Swablu. I had no clue it was an actual Dragon type until it started to learn Dragon Breath when it evolved.
