If you're gonna argue that they are carried by things they acquired that didn't exist in previous generations (abilities, megas, fairy typing or w/e), I'd argue back that first of all; since it's literally impossible for gen2 lax to face off against scorbunny and second; we lost many broken things through the gens that we'd consider broken if they were to be released today like gen1's crit ration, permanent weather, megas and Z, etc.
