Glalie being based off a combination of a goalie mask, an oni, and a rice ball(onigiri) didn't come across to me until I saw its japanese name, Onigohri, which is a pun on all 3. It also took me a while to notice that its body is actually just the black rock and it's just covering itself with ice like Vanillite. I partially blame Snorunt for looking like a native american tipi/teepee tent.
Slightly related, I accepted the whole "Froslass is ghost type because the Dawn Stone melts the Snorunt" headcanon until I saw that it doesn't translate with Dawn Stone's japanese name, Awakening Stone.
