The problem with the protags is that most of them don't really have a innocent or virtuous personality, making them only innocent in their appearance. The ones that do have a personality (mostly due to the anime), Dawn, May, Serena, Misty, are pretty outgoing and, in my headcanon, not that virtuous. I'll think of someone better, don't you worry.
