Defeated Burgh with no issues thanks to Porkchop. Porkchop+Nellie also took care of the two rival fights on route 4. Also got the new pair of Yamask+Dwebble.
I think for Elesa's gym I'm gonna use Timpani+Vexi, hopefully Vexi's bulky enough to survive a few hits and maybe get some poisons off.
>>46094184Pretty much, it's the additional rule for a Wedlocke. For each battle I'm locked to only two mons, unless both of them die, then I can switch into a new pair.
There's also a gender clause for capturing, where if I have an unpaired mon, I need to capture the first mon I encounter on the route of the opposite gender- at first I wasn't sure if I was going to add this clause, but after resetting twice in leafgreen because my entire team was either male/female made me decide it's necessary. I lost an Abra in leafgreen to this clause, so it can definitely still screw you over.
Not a drastic change to the standard locke rules, but it still makes things interesting and I find the extra team planning enjoyable.
