Growing up I was never a regular ashnime watcher for a number of reasons (main being access) but I remember vividly Ash in early BW finding a koffing and acting like he had never seen one, Like, what the fuck is this bullshit.
I always believed the anime team was completely ready to end the ashnime in DP, but the suits decided otherwise and they had to pull this from their asses. In hindsight, it's hilarious to note that the suits weren't even completely unanimous about that. I wonder who decided to stick with Ash for so long and why, they should have really listened to Ishihara.
