The animation was great, but the characters seemed to distort a lot. They skipped a shit load of interesting battles, and the few that were shown eventually just turned into brief 5 second struggles because it became clear the animators were like "fuck that shit I don't want to animate more".
Also Red turned into fucking Naruto. He only beat Green and Giovanni because of some "believe in yourself" bullshit.
Charizard knocking Blastoise out with Fire Blast was grade-A bullshit, but none is worse than Rhyhorn knocking out Jolteon with an electric attack.
Started out well, went downhill from there and once again it became clear that this was just pandering to nostalgiafags and a way to advertise Megaevolutions. Sure, it was only 4 episodes, and sure, we all know the anime is just a big ad. That doesn't excuse it, though. It shouldn't feel like a big ad. It should be good enough on its own. They probably could've done more with having an actual series, but honestly I just see it eventually becoming as bad as the normal anime.
