>The Pocket Monsters anime airs every Friday at 6:55 pm on the TV Tokyo Network, and the adventures of the new protagonists Liko and Roy continue to attract lots of fans.
>Its "Terastal Debut" arc, which started in April 2024, is additionally set in the Paldea region known from the Pocket Monsters Scarlet/Violet video games and puts the spotlight on characters video game fans are highly familiar with.
>We've interviewed Yuka Terasaki-san, the voice actress who plays Roy in this anime, and can now present the lengthy heart-to-heart talk we had with her about subjects of interest to all, such as the future of Roy's Partner Hogator:
Q: It's been over a year since the new series that started over from scratch with Liko and Roy as protagonists began airing. What are your thoughts on Roy and Hogator's adventure thus far?
>Terasaki: Pokémon had been part of Roy's life since before he set off on his adventure, but he had absolutely no idea what it was like to be a Pokémon Trainer; Things like commanding moves, battling, and the like. As you know, there weren't any other Trainers on the remote island he lived on, so not only had he never battled, he hadn't even got a single Pokémon. This was a boy who treasured his Ancient Monster Ball and strongly desired to find the perfect partner and thus become a Pokémon Trainer, but had no idea how to go about doing that.
>He then ended up meeting Liko and Dot, and then later his soon-to-become-Partner-Pokémon Hogator and Kaiden… So much happened all at once for him, and I think he started interacting with Pokémon in a very different way than before, so I've really felt him grow as a person this past year.
