>>56379451I'm 32 and I still play Pokémon although I'm mostly a TCG guy in terms of "serious" interest.
>>56379475The first two are definitely red flags but...
>you preorder both versions of each new game at launch, even worse if you pick the deluxe packs I personally don't see this as an issue due to how much of a pain in the ass it can be to complete the Pokédex when the game first comes out, especially when it comes to trading Legendary Pokémon or version-exclusive special Pokémon like the Ultra Beasts and Paradox Pokémon.
>(or whatever the TCG equivalent of this is)This one is completely unnecessary for the most part. The TCG doesn't have version exclusives (unless you're in Japan where they'll sometimes release two sets at the same time) and the closest you can get excess spending is if you're insisting on pulling everything you want to collect from sealed booster packs, booster boxes, and special products like Premium Collections or Elite Trainer Boxes over buying singles.
>>56380510It's the mostly due to the low cost, range of IPs, and variants that make Funko POPs a "seller" to some degree.
>but it's wiser to invest in less figures of higher qualityAgreed, but it's worth remembering that most people can't slam down $100+ on one figure.
