The truth of the matter is it's just that GameFreak are a bunch of lazy, unambitious faggots that like to play it safe. Fire Emblem Fates were the second best selling sets of Fire Emblem games yet 2/3 of them were hot fucking dick. But look at what IS did afterwards, SoV is incredible and Three Houses looks like it's going to be taking the franchise to levels of customization and innovation it hasn't seen before. IS wasn't content with just not improving simply because the games sold well.
Meanwhile GameFreak just sits on their ass knowing because they don't give a shit, it's entirely their fault for the quality drop the mainline is taking. Not people for buying games they were interested in, it's not like anyone could fucking see in to the future and see this level of apathy coming.
