>Berry LemurI don't really have any good reason for this one, the berry growing thing just feels like a "fairy" type of thing. The only other thing I could think of was grass monotype, which is boring even at the best of times.
>BunbunThis is the one I had the most trouble with. It's tail looks a lot like smoke, so it could be poison, but then I'd have to retype the platypus. Then I thought maybe flying, because its tail looked a bit like a cloud. Then I realised that it actually looked a lot like a thunder cloud. I know that a lot of people have gotten sick of those stupid electric mouse "totally not a Pikachu" rehash in every generation, so maybe they wanted to spice it up a bit and have it be a starter this time instead.
Of course this is all working on the assumption that they are actually real, and I admit that the bara, waifu, edgy pattern may have influenced it, with platypus being bara, lemur being waifu, and bunny being edgy.
