While Sugimori's old style certainly was inspired by Toriyama, there was definitely enough of a difference between the two that Sugimori's art still stood out on its own. There are similarities, but they are different, and as much as I love Toriyama's style and his works, I think Sugimori, during the early 2000's, had really peaked and surpassed him artistically.
