I'll always remember running around my village all afternoon and then rushing home to watch the latest episode of the anime (it aired around 7pm or something in my country. I also vividly remember buying these strange bootleg bubblegums in droves because they came with stickers of gen 2 Pokemon and since nobody had the Internet back then, that was our only way of seeing all these cool new Pokemon until the anime caught up.
