Ice Type is fine and is honestly on the strong side of the game in Singles formats.
It's a type that has a good offensive spread, access to a strong mechanic in Snow, and received a lot of strong new pokemon in Baxcalibur, Chien Pao, and Iron Bundle.
This is less true in VGC due to the prominence of Incineroar limiting how good Ice Types can really be, but Chien Pao and to a lesser extent Baxcalibur has enjoyed a good amount of success in the format
