I would agree with you there, if not for the fact that it has been brought to their attention numerous times, with calcs and everything.

Even the vast majority of smogon players want Toxapex gone.
Only the tourneyfags who rely on stall because they prefer to play things safe (because 1 loss means elimination in a tournament) actually want it around.

Honestly, I think most smoggies will be happy about it.
The council's decisions don't reflect the average player's opinions.
The council is biased in favor of tournament players, and tournament players are biased in favor of stall because one loss meaning instant elimination encourages playing safe.
Ladder players despite stall and want mons like Toxapex gone.

The reason why everyone is talking about Toxapex is because it's a cancerous presence in the meta. And they've given plenty of reasons why.
The reason why everyone is complaining about the council is because of their clear tournament bias and dragging their feet, and dismissive posts like this that make it clear that they don't give a fuck about the player base.
