Gates is better than Super, Super’s fanfic story and annoying ass partner are not enough to slog through the hellhole of a game, and i stubbornly refused to use items as much as possible. Charmander and Squirtle happened to be a great pairing so they muscled through but it wasn’t fun just seeing you get your shit pushed in by every Pokémon that wasn’t blatantly your ally in a cutscene after crawling out of some nightmare dungeon. After Poliwrath River the Super pairing should’ve been sweeping through every villain, that shit was atrociously hard.
