She would also be someone who I can see grow old with and being a great mother, due to her great parental instincts and sense of responsibility. She's the only one of Ash's female companions to abandon her dreams for her duties, and I truly admire that.
But Misty also values her feminine side, and isn't afraid to show it. I have a tough time opening myself up to people, but Misty is someone who truly understands if she cares for you and that is what I want from a waifu.
Is part of that nostalgia? Sure, but what is nostalgia if warm memories? Misty brings me back to a simpler and innocent period before the turbulent stress that is my adulthood.
