Again, if someone knows something - I'm interested>but then again Saturn was far more popular in Japan than here because he's the tiny guy that looks and talks like a girl everyone lovesFrom what I saw over the years Japan seemed to be more confused about his gender than anything, mainly because of his feminine voice in the anime despite being mentioned as "the mysterious man" in the credits once (his first appearance), his gender neutral way of talking, his gender neutral appearance in general, his team consisting of mostly female Pokemon in the games, that Pokemon Sunday episode where "he" and Mars were like "btw, we're both girls~" and that manga. Led to a good amount of entertaining discussions, though.
