>>48346780Ash beat the Unova Champion and won the Alola League, he's essentially Champion tier in universe now, but he needs a real major victory against a Champion or past Elite Four member to make it really feel like he belongs in the Masters. Ash VS Lance in round one of the Masters would be great because Ash is the ultimate underdog this way. The lone non-Champion VS the top 7 in the world. The moment he beats a Champion in front of the entire world rather then just Go is when things become serious.
The only thing I don't like about things right now is how the Champions feel weaker now then they did in the past. Hopefully Cynthia is showcased as an absolute powerhouse next episode.
