and to that end more water types, and I don't even really care for them, but they felt sparse as fuck in a game taking place in TROPICAL ISLANDS.

I don't sound like a genwunner, but there's still more kanto pokemon that should have shown up in this game, along with mysteriously missing legions of gen 3 pokemon, sure most of them are water types, but it makes sense for them to be in this game. As long as it's optional they could add plenty of water routes instead of the lazy boat to each island method we got, point being that you can still do boats, then take the water routes once you get a surfing ride pokemon.
OH YEAH IF A RIDE POKEMON IS IN THE GAME IT NEEDS TO BE A CATCHABLE POKEMON. Charizard made no sense other than to genwun pander.
