>>29008290Pretty much this. Version exclusive splits seem like a hassle even if you get them by trade and gendered evolutions would be chaotic to breed even if they make sense. At least with day and night, it would allow both paths (?) to support both genders as well.
Of course, there's also max Amie splits and to those who know what they're doing, if not-max Amie evo is the one they want, they barely have to try and if someone wants the max Amie one, all they have to do is pamper their little shit as much as they can.
