>>44367215It's pretty meh, IMO. I've yarr-harr'd it and I'm glad I did. For such a hyped "muh next-gen" and "muh console/hybrid" version of Porkyman, these games feel like big let downs. Sadly, I also don't see GameFreak abandoning it in favor of a remake or a new game any time soon. They'll keep pushing out "tiny island DLC" after "tiny island DLC", milking this thing dry before even considering a new region.
>>44367680Draw distance for monsters is a bitch in those wild areas. They feel bland and dead. BOTW managed to feel more alive, you could see enemies, people and things further ahead.
DESU, wide open areas in vidya generally make me anxious, as if I'm not seeing everything I SHOULD be seeing (poor draw distance fucks it up even more) and that I might end up missing something important. I had more fun exploring the old narrow routes, with different HM abilities unlocked to reach different places. But that's just me, y'know.
Overall, this game could've been SO much more. An extra year and a half in the oven, perhaps?
Honestly, I felt angered when I first heard all the drama about ShSw, but, after forcing myself to play it, I can't feel anything but sadness. It's such a bland game that has the community divided. People are fighting over something that should've been the great console debut of a mainline Pokémon game... and that's all it's ever gonna be remembered for. :(
