You can't force yourself to like a Pokemon's aesthetics, although using it may help you warm up to it. I remember disliking Toxicroak before seeing how amazing he was in the rain. Now I'm neutral towards him.
And I personally like Salamence (then again I like all pseudo-legendaries).
