Hello /vp/, its /g/ here. Normally I don't go on this board but one of my friends sent me this thread and I started investigating.
Im using a bluetooth diagnostic tool and I found exactly why this is happening. I will do my best to summarize what is happening.
>New Pokemon game brought an update to the switch that regarded addresses to bluetooth LE(could be the ground work for drivers of new hardware, an update for the promotional giveaways, etc)
So basically:
>Switch is broadcasting bluetooth LE address
>Roku is turned on, it uses a very similar frequency and calling address to sync to its remote
>Switch signal from Pokemon is stronger and super similar to Roku remotes
>Roku eats shit and dies when it starts up and can't pair to the switch as a remote for obvious reasons
And this is why tech companies invest millions on signal dampening rooms to test all their wireless shit in. The exception that the Roku incurs while trying to connect to the switch has no fallback so it just goes "OH SHIT NIGGER" and restarts.
