>>51176861It was overrated. Well, actually the "story" or adventure is still the best in any Pokemon game except maybe BW1. Unfortunately the level curve meme is real and the game has no more endgame than the previous. Which sucked balls as a kid. Experiencing it nowadays is better because you can just play the story and fuck off after. Don't envy the gen1-2 boomers they are high on nostalgia if they tell you it was actually better than today which has everything from remakes to to Pokemon Go to play. Back in the day you beat Red and then had nothing to do until fucking GBA came out. Gen3 experience was much more fun since that was when they added an actual endgame and alternate shit to do as well as a remake each gen. I started with Red but I'm a Hoennfag and proud. Going to Kanto and encountering Red was cool but that one moment had to carry the gen because there wasn't much else.
