So he led with Exeggutor, and again I had led with Purple Guy, which is a horrible matchup for me. I switched to El Chip, and he actually had a lot of trouble and couldn't finish the job. Despite the type mismatch, I had to switch to Ennard and pray he hit a Blizzard, which went through.
Next he had Scyther, which was also pretty easy to take out. Then a Wigglytuff, that kept singing, but eventually went out too.Then Moltres, which was a little scary at first, but Ennard tanked it.
Now, in the randomizer, Giovanni's last Pokémon always has Fissure, which is what killed one of my Pokémon in the last two runs. Freddles is my fastest, so I just hoped that the typing would be in my favor.
It was a Magneton! Which was perfect! Two Digs took it out, and it DID use Fissure, but missed, despite the 7 level advantage it had. Everything worked out perfectly this time! Fissure's pretty intimidating.
