There is a lot that could be improved, but I think the biggest thing game freak is suffering from right now a serious lack of creativity in the gameplay department. I could harp on the difficulty being way too fucking easy, your rival being a brain dead monkey that actively tries to ruin your game at every turn, but I feel like I'm beating a dead horse at this point. There's a lot missing from this game and I can only hope the next gen has something new to offer.
