>Misdreavus/Mismagius
My main companion, and one I'd keep out of it's ball for most of the time. I just wanna travel and explore with a chill ghost buddy, and it seems like a fun mischievous type. Also, having a strong bond with a ghost type seems like a good way to avoid trouble when hanging around areas populated with other ghost types.
>Water travel
That's a big no from me. Don't like water or water types. Not big on sailing let alone riding an animal out on open water.
>Air travel: Togekiss
I'd raise it from an egg and care for it during my adventures, likely keeping it out of a pokeball and with me at all times. And eventually, we would be able to fly around together as a fully grown Togekiss.
>Heat/Warmth: Vulpix/Ninetales
I've always gotten the impression that Ninetales would be very caring and protective over it's fellow teammates. And it's intelligence and 'mystic powers' it has according to the dex would give a sense of comfort and safety against whatever lurks in the wild. I could count on it to help look after the others, especially with raising something like a Togepi.
>Strength: Dusknoir
One I imagine I'd get far later into my travels, once we've gotten strong enough to take on and catch something like this. On top of removing obstacles he would fill the role of a bodyguard of sorts, and would become the main offensive for my team should we ever run into trouble.
For miscellaneous, I have a couple, but they're all pretty much the same idea. Travelling in the Pokemon universe I highly doubt I would be a trainer, but instead I'd just enjoy comfy adventures while taking up studying ghosts. So I figure this slot would be reserved for my latest find. Pumpkaboo, Shuppet, maybe a Spiritomb if I'm lucky.
