Everyone says how gen 5 had super cool bug types, but I just noticed recently that I think gen 1 has the best water type designs by country mile. Tentacruel, Gyarados, Starmie, Slowbro, lapras, Vaporeon, omastar and Cloyster are some of the best designed pokemon as a whole in my opinion and some of them don't get anywhere near enough credit. Even shit like seaking, magikarp, kingler, and the seel line manage to be quite visually appealing even if they're generic
