The exploration is pretty well done instead of feeling too short/too long. The gameplay is DEFINITELY refined from a few years back (Smooth enemy animation, nightly two minute maintenance, better ability/moves/ect). They added Pokemon all the way to Gen 7 and you can just hang out with other people/make group/ect. The staff seems to be pretty active lately and just released a trailer for the game
Grind wise it's only depends on how you handle the game. I've been playing as a Decidueye so all I have to do is wall walk and kill shit with ominous wind from afar so I've been exploring everything instead of simply rerunning dungeons, just that got me past 70+
