Pokémon still continues to be the most profitable franchise in human history and a big part of that is the charm and familiarity of the Pokémon themselves despite their fantastical origins.
It's okay to have your own opinions but it's foolish to think the series isn't conduction certain construction of Pokémon for a reason. All the talking points here just boil down to people not realizing just how common their "arguments" are in fiction but also ignoring the context and construction of Pokémon in-universe to the point that they're ignoring what the people who run the series say and even their creator. This construction is very meticulous and plays a very big role in the reception of Pokémon, that much is undeniable.
