Even tho R&B is not that impressive today, they were groundbreaking games for the era that they came out, same for GS but those games are even better due to the history of those games development, shows soul and care to the craft a fun experience, since they were expected to be the last games of the series. It's something that a lot of Pokemon games lack today and something HGSS replicated on the additional number of features they added and care for the craft and creation of an actual Pokemon Experience.
