Let's Go! is literally a trojan horse designed to lure Pokemon GO! Players into giving a "real" Pokemon game a chance, either for the first time since the GBC games, or for the first time whatsoever, and its timing seems tailor made so they'd be getting bored of it EXACTLY once the REAL New Generation comes out for the Switch they already got for Let's Go!
As some one who spent about 5 minutes with Pokemon Go before deciding it was fucking stupid and not worth my time, I'm 100% okay with this.
