No, XY prebank at best proved that limited dexes can be a decent novelty for a limited period of time. It never proved itself to be genuinely superior to postbank meta because it didn't have the time to do so. Most likely, it would have eventually settled itself around a limited number of threats, like every single Pokemon metagame does. The only thing that would have changed is less potential counterplay options and therefore less creativity.
