For example, Pikachu would be shocky, goldeen would be fishy, Growlethe would be torch, and so on. By the time I got Mewtwo (I think I recall naming him something like Sicciro or some stupid shit.) I was starting to run out of names. I eventually got Scyther from game corner and evolved him into Siczor. His was the worst nickname of them all.
