That's half true, from what I've seen they're using a new model format engineered by Game Freak themselves altogether, so Ohana3DS required an update to be able to load these files
I'm not really anybody anyone would recognize
unless you're familiar with Garry's Mod and even then I still doubt anyone would, I just happen to really like tinkering with 3D models and porting them to Source
