Pokemon is THE most profitable multimedia franchise in history. Gamefreak specifically sells over 15M copies of their games each year, Diamond and Pearl were selling years and years after release, along with Sun and Moon.
Gamefreak HAS money, they have the ability to hire more competent developers who can flesh Pokemon out into a genuine JRPG. If Pokemon were a tiny, niche franchise you'd be right, but it's not. Gamefreak is simply a lazy, incompetent dev studio who get's away with the bare minimum because their fanbase is both willing to buy even their worst games AND defend their shitty decision.
These fuckers couldn't give enough of a shit to give Aerodactyl an actual skeleton model, they just pasted his regular ingame model and called it a day. Fuck this company.
