I'm tired of all this "hurrdurr a 10 year old kid is the chosen one and everybody loves and respects him and even though he only started raising pokemon two days ago he's the best trainer ever with the strongest bonds with his pokemon and he's the only one who can travel to parallel universes to save all of existence" bullshit. Pokemon needs to stop trying to be a shitty shounen anime movie and go back to being simply about exploring a vast region and meeting lots of strange creatures and training them to be the very best. They need to put all their focus on the important ludonarrative stuff that really makes the player's connection to their Pokemon and the game world feel real, not to just be told "wow anon ur pokemon sure love you more than mine love me ur so epic!!!" But unfortunately Gamefreak doesn't seem to understand anything except for "how can we raise the stakes even further in the next game?", and they still love to waste precious development time and energy tacking on unnecessary experimental mechanics instead of trimming the fat or bolstering the good mechanics that are already in place, so I'm guessing gen 8 will be just as bad as gen 7, if not worse.
Fuck this company, man.
