Most of GameFreak's problems stem from creative design philosophy. Masuda, Ishihara, and Ohmori have a low opinion of children, seeing them as stupid/short attention span/smartphone obsessed, so they've dumbed down the games in an attempt to indoctrinate this young audience with a love for Pokemon.
Buying the game isn't as important as programming a new diehard Pokemon fan, because as the shitty adults show, you can't quit this drug once you're hooked.
