The episode was okay, all around meh, and nothing to right home about. If you saw more in it than that, that’s great, but not everyone is going to share the same opinion as you. You have an episode where Goh forms a bond with a Pokémon that we didn’t even see him actually catch, and has never actually appeared until now, and when it gets released we are supposed to care when Goh has 4 others of the same Pokémon back at home. It’s all incredibly trivial and forced, you can clearly see the writers want the viewers to really care about Goh just as much as they would for Ash or any other companion but the story beats don’t hit because aside from these specialized focus episodes, we don’t even see him do anything with these Pokémon we are supposed to care about if it’s not him using them for assistance in catching another Pokémon. Again, this is literally the first time we’ve ever even seen Goh with this Flabebe that first appeared 41 episodes ago. Just because it’s a “Kodomo anime” doesn’t mean it’s safe from criticism just like any other show.
Posts like these seriously just piss me off. You don’t HAVE to be here if you don’t like manchildren circlejerking over shipping and porn. You can make your OWN thread to talk about the anime how you want it to be talked about, and that’ll be just fine. If you don’t see the episode being discussed here, then discuss it somewhere else if you want to discuss it so bad. Clearly the people posting in the thread at the time weren’t interested in the episode and that’s perfectly okay.
