My girlfriend of five years and I recently got our own sepperate therapists, as well has a psychiatrist to monitor some of the anti-depresents shitty private practice doctors had put us on.
It has literally changed our world together. We can identify the ways in which we hurt ourselves, alieviating the feelings of hopelessness we end up both feeling about the other. Nothing hurts more than feeling like you can't help someone feel better.
But, know that no matter how good your intentions are, you -aren't- trained to help her get better. You can support her while she goes through these serious changes and moments of behavior modification, but you can't suddenly heal her with just your words (that she will innately distrust at some level).
Maybe pair that up with couples therapy, too, so you can learn how to communicate your love for each other better?
If you live in America, Obamacare literally made this kind of treatment just short of free to every American by February of next year.
Good luck. Don't feel like you have to be alone in this.
