>>39652700The cut could have sense if Game Freak makes a game entirely based on the Middle Age (where things like Porygon don't exist), very futuristic (where some "modern" Pokémon are extint and other have evolve to adapt to the new ecosystem)... This would be pretty neat take part of the Kalos War, and this would work as sequel of an incomplete story.
But we all know Game Freak will not make something like this because TPCi will not allow removing Ash from anime.
