Have you ever asked why a certain pokémon has that specific name? well i do and thought it would be cool to find it out myself instead of looking it up on serebii and bulbapedia or something. Most of them are pretty simple and not really a challenge but now i have run into golduck. I really don't know what to make of the guy. I searched a long time for the "gold" or gol part and could not find anything, except that gold was associated with spiritual things, but the link to golduck seems a bit weak. After viewing the dex entrees it seemed like golduck was based on a "kappa" from japanese folklore but even that didn't gave me any lead, it ended up in cucumbers and stuff. So anyone any suggestions ?
