>>48516666> Why does Arceus even need abdominal rings? Why can it not? There are numerous pointless elements of Pokemons designs but for some reason the ring on Arceus body stands out? There is not a fundamental reasoning as to why it exists but it certainly does have one. For instance it could possibly be a reference to the Bhavacackra from Hindu mythology, tying in with a symbol for reincarnation. Maybe it extends in some unknown alternate ability to take shape of the "thousand arms" that Acreus used to create the pokemon world.
> it doesn't makes sense from the standpoint of evolutionary biologyWhy would you even bring this up when there is no solid pattern to evolutionary biology, especially when organisms become more complex. For instance cassowary males have completely useless and inconvenient tail plumes that exist for the sole reason that is female selective led breeding.
And you are again acting as if these pointless design features are somehow so externally exclusive to the gen 4 trio. As if every Pokemon design is made in complete regard to evolutionary biology. Why does Charizard have fire on its tail?
Now please explain to me what is so bad about a pokemon being "overdesigned" and what is the definition of it to be used in tandem with pokemon specifically. It can't necessarily just be external horns and armor, pic related was one of the first mons ever designed and look at all of those pointless spikes and dear lord it even has breast armor.
