I really don't think they would dedicate an entire arc to a character who will end up never appearing again afterwards. Korrina so far is getting 7 episodes and even more now that we know they aren't even at Geosenge by the Mawile episode. We know Ash and Pikachu battle Lucario twice by the third episode of the arc and most likely another time in an episode in the future. Ash has the strongest Aura out of all the characters so far introduced (maybe barring Riley) and has directly connected to a Lucario and Riolu in the past due to his Aura powers. This seems like the perfect time to reintroduce his Aura powers to newer viewers and I'm positive from the titles of these episodes, that's exactly what's going to happen.
I am seriously starting to think Korrina will end up giving Ash her Lucario by the time they have their final battle at the Tower of Mastery, which I am almost positive is happening because of how much the writers have been closely adapting the games' story. I think all these battles are eventually leading up to Ash battling with Lucario by his side because there is no way this could be leading to Pikachu defeating Mega Lucario when it has already lost to regular Lucario.
As much as I wanted to use Hawlucha, the fact that it is a Wild Pokemon leads me to believe the writers won't be making it so Korrina gives her Hawlucha instead. I think Lucario is coming and we are just going to have to deal with it.
