I thought that the 6+ months of discussing pokemon meant that everyone pretty much knew what they wanted from particular mon.
I poorly worded the survey asking for new suggestions because I guess I assumed that newer ideas would be the more interesting/important ones, and the ones that had already spread through word of mouth would just show up. I did not think to word it to add things about unofficial stuff that hadn't been voted on yet. I guess I assumed that was implied or just didn't think it through, and therefore fucked up.
I agree that opening a discussion here beforehand would have been beneficial, but do not necessarily agree that it is a requirement. Especially when people are still free to talk about that stuff here.
And the downside of the survey being people cannot see others' suggestions was actually something I considered as a big downside of doing a survey. Which is why I also made the thread. But being as the thread was completely missed last time I did it (or at least so I heard despite my many spam attempts) is why I thought a pre-survey was necessary at least as a backup.
And finally, there are one or maybe two guys that love to jump at every mistep I make, and they have more than reared their head to, and this has affected me more than I am proud to admit. So I was quick to lash back when getting flack for simply putting out some suggestion boxes. Especially when I am trully just trying to please everyone in spite of my mistakes and blunders.
Dunno if anyone cares, but I feel better having said it.
The survey was never strict cannon to start with. Just another attempt to put things on file. And it doesn't have to go anywhere if no one wants it to.
